EWTN LC wholeheartedly endorses this mission statement and specifies for its particular realisation in the Netherlands, Flanders:
1. The revealed truth EWTN LC too is dedicated to teaching the truth truth as defined by the Magisterium of the Roman Catholic Church, whose source is the divine revelation if the incarnated eternal Word of God. This revelation is God’s ultimate personal answer offerd to the soul that longs for truth. By immutable nature, the soul is made for knowing and understanding reality, and in reality shape its own personal truth.
2. Evangelisation In keeping with the Holy Father’s call for a new Evangelization, EWTN LC mission is to communicate clearly the teachings and to publicize the beauty of the Catholic Church , and to help people grow in their love of God, understand His calling and experience His infinite mercy .
3. Understanding The revelation of God’s eternal Word become man can only be received by man, if he recognizes and ever better understands that the search of truth is not so much a human right, as a natural necessity. Today can be observed a dominating tendency to underestimate, truncate, deny or even suppress the capacities of human understanding. EWTN LC will therefore particularly speak to human reason and appeal to its capacity to discern and judge according to principles.
4. Soul An informative medium is responsible for truths that are being communicated – for EWTN LC this includes a grave ‘pastoral’ responsability. This means expressly the cura animarum in its traditional sense: care for preparing immortal soul for its final encounter with the eternal god – ultimately every soul bears responsability for its answer to the unconditional offer of divine mercy.
