July 2022 – Father Elias Leyds c.s.j., in his series ‘FilioQue – the Catholic trademark’, continues on the subject of ‘initiation’.
In the Alpes, above the Italian place of Aosta, close to the place where Saint John Paul II often came during his holidays, father Elias continues his contemplation on the initiation into the spiritual life, the passing over to a new life. After stressing the importance of having a coach, a spiritual father on the way to passing over to a new life, zooms in on the inevitable emptiness, desolation that accompanies the process of initiation.
Why is that feeling of abandonment almost a necessity before one can know the Father?
